On 2 March 2024, a welcome new asset was added to the Perth Muslim Ummah with the Grand Opening of the Islamic Lifestyle Store at 12 Wright Street in Kewdale, which is so close to Belmont Forum that you could easily think you were in Belmont!

For those wishing to avoid "hemfire", aka the special hell that you can get from going to a Misjad with hems covering the ankles, IBC has a very capable Sister who can do alterations, without the Large Shopping Centre Alteration Store Costs. A Gentlemen we know had some Thobes "de-hemfired" and he tells us he was most halcyon about the process, and we can attest that the alterations looked very "Misjad Perfecto"
There are a very good range of Qurans including for study purposes along with Islam education materials suitable for children and adults! For those of us who are no longer in the full spring of our flexibility there are some padded prayer mats which double as a supported back rest. These are a must for brothers with creaky bones for listening to educational talks at Mosques and for sitting for Friday Jummah. They (did at the time of writing) have a range of colours and designs but as with most products, we understand, IBC can order things in.
There are decorative items for the home including prints for the walls and for the folks who like to smell nice, there are a range of perfumes with testers, so you can know what you are buying. They have handy, fit in your pocket sizes, to give yourself a spritz to freshen up when you are on the go.
Our favourite, are the range of Kufi Caps that include the essential white prayer hat along with colours to go with your new Jubba or Thobe or to replace those "lost" aka stolen items that we hear was a problem for a certain Muslim Brother About Town but enough said on that "situation", although we note, Bertrand Russell said "No one gossips about other people's secret virtues", and we suspect "certain theys with light fingers" will be feeling a little "hemfire" on judgement day!
